This is a sketch I did when I was on vacation in Hawaii a while back. The inspiration came from the beautiful nature and people there.

Some of my inspiration for this illustrated piece also came from a song called "By the Butterfly Pond (蝴蝶泉边)" which was from a 50s Chinese movie "Five Golden Flowers". The keywords you need to know about this reference are: beautiful girl, combing long hair, by the Butterfly Pond, waiting for her lover...

I love well drawn, simple art. There is nothing wrong with being simple and sometimes its nice to come across a good, simple drawing-such as this. I love the three color scheme and think this is the kind of drawing that would look great on a t-shirt. Simple and easy drawing to look at without a ton of colors over powering the drawing itself.
The beautiful swirls of her hair remind me of a winding river, where your eyes follow each turn in the hair so smoothly, and you can start from the top or bottom. The line art looks very professional, nice and clean. The lines look great in the hair, giving the hair nice shape and motion. The expression is also nice and fits the drawing because of how calm she looks.
I like the roses behind her because it's just enough of a background and think if the roses weren't there then the background would be too empty. Also the butterflies are cute.

p.s. This drawing would also look really good as a tattoo too!
